Global Diet and Activity Research Group and Network (GDAR)
The goal of the GDAR is to help noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease and cancers, in low and middle income countries (LMICs). These diseases are a major and growing cause of death and disability in these countries. Two of the most important causes of this trend are unhealthy diets and a lack of physical activity, both of which are associated with rapid economic development.
