Car parking at the IPH is restricted to permit holders only.

There are only six visitors’ spaces which must be booked: to enquire about availability please ring 01223 330300.

Visitors bays are clearly marked by the yellow bollards and are on the left hand side as you look at the building’s front entrance. You may park in any of these spaces if you have reserved a space.  Just ask reception staff to unlock a bollard for you on arrival. Please do not park in other bays, as you will be asked to move.

We are very fortunate to have good public transport links to this site, from the City Centre, rail station and three Park & Ride sites, and would urge visitors to use these services if no visitor’ bays are available.

The Park & Ride bus, number 99, which operates between Cowley Road and Babraham Road via the city centre, runs every 10 minutes, is reasonably reliable and fast.

The walk to and from this site from the Babraham Road Park & Ride site is about 20 minutes (Christine, our receptionist, walked it with a stop watch!). The walk from Addenbrooke’s Island to the site takes about 5 minutes.

In addition to the 99 bus, there is also the Guided Bus service A that runs between Trumpington and St Ives via the hospital,  Cambridge Railway Station and the City Centre. This bus will drop you quite close to the Institute on Robinson Way - the stop handy for the Institute is the second stop after the bus arrives on the Addenbrooke's 'loop'. This is an excellent, quick way to and from the station and a lot cheaper than a taxi!

The Uni 4 bus operates between the Madingley Road Park & Ride site and Addenbrooke’s and a flat fare of only 50 pence is charged to holders of the Cambridge University ID card.

Another solution for when we have no visitors’ parking available is the new multi-storey car park at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. It takes about five minutes to walk to the IPH from there.

Finally please realise that reception staff do everything they can to see that parking is carried out as efficiently as possible. If you are unsure of where to park, please ask.
